Gulfi, world famous winery from Sicily

Nerojbleo is the very pleasant introduction to the special wines of top winery Gulfi. Result of passion and love for a family tradition that has lasted for three generations. That tradition led Vito Catania in 1996 to set up one of the most interesting projects in the Sicilian wine world.

Salvo Foti, oenologist, was with him from day one. Vito decides to focus purely on indigenous grape varieties. Nero d'Avola is the big star for red wine. Carricante for white wine. Only Chardonnay is an exception.
The vines are planted with the ancient, non-irrigated Alberello system from southern Italy. Here the vines are separated from each other like compact small trees (albero is tree in Italian). He also opted for organic viticulture , Gulfi is certified for this.

Gulfi wines are known worldwide as the pinnacle of Nero d'Avola . Gulfi cultivates approximately 50 hectares of organic vineyards around Chiaramonte and Etna in southeastern Sicily. Gulfi is one of the very best winemakers in Sicily.
