Description

Traminer In Haiden, Zillinger . This dry white wine from Traminer (aka Savagnin) is a true taste bomb. Juicy, full, rich, with tropical fruit, fresh-soft, but also salty, with wet forest and herbs. Complex wine that also ages beautifully. Biodynamic wine from the Weinviertel. Herbert Zillinger is one of the great wine talents from Austria.

Traminer In Haiden, Zillinger

Right on the eastern border with Slovakia lies the village of Ebenthal. This is where Herbert Zillinger makes his biodynamic wines and is a sensation. Master of Wine Jancis Robinson idolizes his Grüner Veltliner and Traminer. This Traminer in Haiden is a rich, sultry dry white wine with aromas of lychee, apricot, peach, mango but also wet forest, green herbs and floral. Fine acids give the wine punch. Also try his Traminer Profund.

“… Zillinger is one of the very best wine producers in the Weinviertel , and I can only recommend to check out his vibrant and characterful style. Just do not expect any easy-drinking tutti frutti wines here. These are serious wines made for aging and sophisticated menus.” - Parker's Wine Advocate taster Stephan Reinhardt

One of the most exciting wineproducers anywhere !… underpriced and undercelebrated… I am also very impressed by Herbert Zillinger's Grüner Veltliner… The real discovery as far as I am concerned is Herbert Zillinger, whose white wines are exceptionally good .”  - Jancis Robinson MW
