Traminer Profund, Herbert Zillinger

Dry white wine from Austria, wine region Weinviertel DAC. Biodynamic wine from Herbert Zillinger. Traminer Profund is a white wine with -what's in a name- enormous depth. Only the very best Traminer grapes are used for the Profund. A part ferments along (Maischevergoren), the rest gets a short skin maceration (Maischestandzeit). This ensures more extraction of aromas from the skins.

The must ferments spontaneously without filtering or clarifying. The wine first ferments on stainless steel and then further on large wood. This wine is bottled unfiltered and with minimal sulphite. Aromas of lychee, roses, apricots and honey. Complex flavors with fine acids and bitters. Long aftertaste. Top wine from top winemaker Herbert Zillinger.
