Roter Veltliner is a unique and ancient white grape variety. It is almost exclusively grown in the Wagram wine region (formerly Donauland), in northern Austria. This Roter Veltliner comes from the Steinberg Ried (vineyard) and has, as the name suggests, stony soil. Normally, Wagram primarily features rich loess-clay soils, deposited by the once much wider Danube.

This truly sublime wine boasts plenty of tension, minerality, and endless length. Ripe apple, pear, almond, marzipan, and nutty notes. But also the tension of delicate acidity, bitter notes, and wet stone. A rich white wine, truly exceptional. A top-notch wine from Austria. It can easily age for 15 years.
