Domaine Haegi, since the 18th century
The Haegi family has lived in Alsace since the 18th century. In 1949, they changed their business when Charles Haegi came to Mittelbergheim and married his second wife, Marguerite Bronner, a winegrower's daughter from the village.
Bernard Haegi, born in 1932, continued the work of his father, Charles. He married Emmy Wittmann, also a winegrower's daughter from Mittelbergheim, and transformed the operation into a full-fledged winery. Their son, Daniel, born in 1965, joined the family business in 1985 after completing studies in viticulture and oenology. He married Sylvie Schwartz, also from an Alsatian winemaking family.
