This Burgundy Chardonnay has a rich and layered style, with ripe pear, melon, yellow apple, and green herbs. Just the right amount of oak and classic, fine acidity. A true pleasure. Expensive, but worth every euro.

Puligny-Montrachet wine is produced in the commune of Puligny-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy. The Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) Puligny-Montrachet applies to white and red wines, with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir as the main grape varieties, respectively.
However, almost all Puligny-Montrachet wines are white, accounting for approximately 99.5 percent of total production. There are four Grand Cru vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet, with Le Montrachet being the most famous, and 17 Premier Cru vineyards.

The style of white Puligny-Montrachet is often very mineral, with a more restrained oak character compared to the white wines of some of the other Côte de Beaune villages, usually described as "elegant" rather than fruit-driven.
