Benedicte & Stephane Tissot En Barberon Chardonnay 2022 (Ouillé). 

This white wine from Tissot from the Jura region is rich, fruity, and well-balanced. Light yellow with golden reflections. Aromas of white fruit, citrus, and a hint of mineral notes and some smoke. Fresh on the attack, with a generous mid-palate and a long, balanced finish.

The taste is rounded, serious, dry, and very palatable. After almost two years of barrel aging, with one-third new wood, this Chardonnay En Barberon now offers a particularly well-balanced profile. With smoky minerality, floral elegance, and fruit.

En Barberon, Tissot's cult vineyard

En Barberon is one of Tissot's cult Chardonnay parcels, grown on Jurassic Lias clay-limestone. In 2022, this wine was vinified sans soufre (without added sulfur) - a first for Tissot in this cuvée, full of purity, energy, and minerality. But it is still very young, with citrus and orchard fruit with a hint of reduction, and promises incredible finesse with some time in the bottle.

Côtes du Jura 2022, finally a good vintage again

The 2022 vintage was particularly favorable. Finally a good year again! With optimal weather conditions ensuring complete ripening of the grapes. Therefore, this En Barberon wine displays a remarkable aromatic expression and maturity.

The Chardonnay grapes were hand-harvested and vinified in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness. After that, aging continued for two years on fine lees to enhance complexity and texture.
