Burgundy
For many, Burgundy remains (or is once again) one of the most beautiful wine regions on earth. It boasts some of the most prestigious names, with the absolute pinnacle of the DRC , Domaine Romanée-Conti. The appellations have equally romantic names, such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Puligny-Montrachet, Savigny-les-Beaune, Aloxe-Corton, and others.
Burgundy officially includes Beaujolais . But most people consider the following appellations as "Burgundy":
- Chablis
- C ô te d'Or - with the parts C ô te de Nuits and C ô te de Beaune
- C ô te Chalonnaise

The grapes for white are Chardonnay and Aligoté , for red Pinot noir and Gamay .
