Champagne A. Robert, Ancrages Premier Cru. This is the Premier Cru champagne from Arnaud Robert from Fossoy on the Marne. Lively, rich, yellow fruit, pastry, delicate. Beautiful mousse. Minerality, slightly saline. Structure. Long finish. Brilliant yellow-gold hue.

This sparkling wine is made from 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, and 10% Pinot Meunier from Premier Cru vineyards in Vertus (Côte des Blancs) and Villeneuve. The reserve wines are from 2 previous years, making up 30% of the blend.
Hand-harvested, fermented in stainless steel and large 3500l vats. These base wines undergo malolactic fermentation (which softens the acidity) and then age for another 10 years on the lees.

It is noteworthy that Robert le Jeune founded the A. Robert winery in 1722. Its vineyards are the oldest in all of Champagne! Even older than those of Ruinart (the oldest champagne house). In addition to the cellars in Fossoy, Robert also has wine cellars in the Côte des Blancs.
