Douro, also interesting for dry wines

The Douro (pronounced "doroe") is, of course, famous for its red and white ports, fortified wines. It's a magically beautiful wine region, with steep slopes along the Douro River, which flows from Spain to Porto and then empties into the Atlantic Ocean. In Spain, this river is called Duero, known for the Ribero del Duero wine region.
