Silvaner GG, top-level wine.

A top-notch wine from Silvaner. This is a truly grand wine from leading VDP member and top-three winery Hans Wirsching in Franconia. GGG stands for Grosses Gewächs , or Grand Cru. The Lage Julius-Echter-Berg has the characteristic Keuper soil. However, compared to the Lagen Kalb and Kronsberg, Julius-Echter-Berg has the most embedded mineral-rich rocks. This gives the wines from this Lage even more depth and tension. Wirsching also applies batonnage to all its wines, which gives them a wonderful softness that is also very gastronomically pleasing.

Crazy beautiful wine from Silvaner. Rich, powerful, ripe, complex. Aromas and flavors of ripe pear, mango, hazelnut, anise, fennel, herbs. Tension and minerality, long finish. Great wine. Serve: 13 C. Drink: now until 2028+
