Supply-Royer, Marsanne de Labade, Languedoc. An open and aromatic Marsanne, exploding with peach and pear. Broad and full, round, structured, and powerful. Long, rich, and very expressive finish with light ripeness and orchard fruit, particularly peach. Very flavorful and, in style, delicious. IGP Pays d'Hérault Mont Baudile.

As is often the case with Marie-Ange Royer and Eric Supply, this is a cuvée that doesn't hide the grape variety. Vinification and aging are done in the traditional Burgundian way, in wooden barrels, for eight months.

Supply-Royer, a small winery with cult status

This mini-estate (5 ha) enjoys true cult status . Eric Supply was born in Languedoc, but worked for over 10 years as a winemaker and cellar master for the famous Domaine Roulot winery (Meursault, Burgundy).

With his wife, Marie -Ange Royer , he returned to Arboras, near Terasses du Larzac , not far from Mas Jullien, where they produce stunning wines under the IGP Pays d'Hérault Mont Baudile . Burgundian-style wine: single-varietal vinification, complete malolactic fermentation, and oak barrel aging.

Their first wine—from 2002—was immediately striking: 100% Bourboulenc, from old vines, aged in classic Burgundian style: approximately 18 months in barriques, some of which were new. Just like Burgundy, this white wine is aged on its fine lees.

Eric Supply buys only new oak wine barrels. He values ​​the provenance of his barrels and attaches great importance to this. He usually sources his barrels from the Ermitage cooperage , with varying toastings and origins. Each cuvée ultimately spends a few weeks in small stainless steel vats, from which they are bottled by gravity and hand. The white wines are fined and very lightly filtered (the reds are not).

Supply-Royer wines are true age-friendly wines with great finesse. Production is minimal. They produce only 5,000 to 6,000 bottles per year, divided into 7 or 8 cuvées. So, often only a few hundred bottles per wine. So be quick!
