Right on the eastern border with Slovakia lies the village of Ebenthal. Here, Herbert Zillinger makes his biodynamic wines and is becoming a hit. Master of Wine Jancis Robinson idolizes his Grüner Veltliner and Traminer. This Traminer from Haiden is a rich, sultry dry white wine with aromas of lychee, apricot, peach, and mango, as well as wet forest, green herbs, and floral notes. Fine acidity gives the wine a punch.
