Vila Closa, Garnacha blanca, Terra Alta, La Botera, Spain. Beautiful white Grenache from the DO Terra Alta near Barcelona. Fine and delicate aromas of oranges, apricots, white flowers and almonds. Ripe white fruit and citrus, round yet fresh, hints of herbs, refined acidity, very pleasant and long finish. Gastronomic wine.

Vila Closa, Garnacha blanca, La Botera, Terra Alta

This dry white wine comes from calcareous clay soil, which provides freshness and minerality. Made from grapes from 2 different plots: one with 30-year-old vines (to provide structure), and one with 15-year-old vines (to provide more freshness).

Separate vinification in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature between 18-19 °C for 15-20 days. Then blended before aging: 3 months on fine lees in stainless steel (2 months of which with bâtonnage). Only 25k bottles made.

The DO Terra Alta (high land) is located southwest of Barcelona. As the name suggests, this wine region is quite high. This ensures cool nights, which in turn ensures that fine fruit aromas and beautiful acidity are preserved.
Terra Alta is considered the origin of Grenache blanc. Here it is called Garnacha blanca or in Catalan Garnatxa blanca. In this beautiful area you will find several other interesting wine regions such as Priorat(o) and Montsant. We also have wines from there.
