Description
Vila Closa, Garnacha blanca, Terra Alta, La Botera, Spain . Beautiful white Grenache from the Terra Alta DO near Barcelona. Fine and delicate aromas of orange, apricot, white flowers, and almond. Ripe white fruit and citrus, round yet fresh, hints of spice, refined acidity, and a very pleasant and long finish. A gourmet wine.

Vila Closa, Garnacha Blanca, La Botera, Terra Alta
This dry white wine comes from chalky clay soil, which imparts freshness and minerality. Made with grapes from two different plots: one with 30-year-old vines (to provide structure), and one with 15-year-old vines (to add more freshness).
Separate vinification in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 18-19°C for 15-20 days. Blending then proceeds before maturation: 3 months on the fine lees in stainless steel (including 2 months with batonnage). Only 25,000 bottles were produced.
The DO Terra Alta (high ground) is located southwest of Barcelona. As the name suggests, this wine region is situated quite high. This creates cool nights, which in turn preserves fine fruit aromas and good acidity.
Terra Alta is considered the birthplace of Grenache blanc. Here, it's called Garnacha blanca , or Garnatxa blanca in Catalan. This beautiful region also boasts several other interesting wine regions, such as Priorat(o) and Montsant. We also have wines from these regions.
