Dasca Vives, Conca de Barberà, Spain

Conca de Barberà: high and cool in Catalonia
Dasca Vives is located in Conca de Barberà, an inland DO in Catalonia at an altitude of 400 to 900 metres. The region is known for its limestone and clay soils and a cool mountain climate that produces elegant, fresh wines — a welcome counterpart to the heavy, warm styles of the coast.
Trepat: the rosé grape of Conca
Dasca Vives works with, among others, Trepat, a rare indigenous variety found almost exclusively in Conca de Barberà. Trepat produces light, fresh rosados and red wines with notes of strawberry, herbs, and lively acidity. In addition to Trepat, Dasca Vives also works with Garnacha and Macabeu.
Vinyater: the white surprise
The wine we have from Dasca Vives is a natural wine made from Vinyater — an unknown and rare grape variety that you really only find here. It yields a generous, slightly fruity wine that becomes truly beautifully complex in this natural wine version.
Small-scale and authentic
Dasca Vives produces wines on a small scale with great attention to the uniqueness of Conca de Barberà — a region that is still in full development.
