Tierra de León: the forgotten region of Castile

Pardevalles is located in Tierra de León, a DO in the northwest of Castile and León in Spain. The region lies at an altitude of 800 to 900 meters and has a distinct continental climate — hot summers, cold winters, and significant day-night temperature differences that preserve the acidity in the grapes.

Prieto Picudo and Albarín

Pardevalles works with two rare indigenous varieties: Prieto Picudo for red — a variety with deep color, fine tannins, and a distinctly spicy character — and Albarín for white, an aromatic variety with tropical fruit and fresh acidity that is found almost exclusively in this region.

Organic and pioneering

Pardevalles is one of the few winemakers that is seriously committed to Tierra de León, showcasing the potential of this forgotten region. Organic management and old vines are the keywords. View all wines from Pardevalles →
