Rheinhessen: Germany's largest wine region

Weingut Storr is based in Rheinhessen, Germany's largest wine region, located in a large bend of the Rhine between Mainz, Worms, and Bingen. Rheinhessen has a warm, dry climate with loess and limestone soils that produce wines of great diversity — from light, fresh white wines to full-bodied, ripe red wines.

Riesling, Silvaner, and Spätburgunder

Weingut Storr works with the typical grape varieties of Rheinhessen: Riesling for fresh, mineral white wines, Silvaner for full, earthy white wines typical of the region, and Dornfelder and Portugieser for elegant red wines. Winemaker Bernhard Storr and his daughters also make beautiful wines from 'Neuzüchtungen', grape varieties created through crossing to ensure sufficient sugar development even in a cool climate. Such as Faberrebe, Huxelrebe, Scheurebe, Kanzler, and Würzer.
