Tissot, le Clos de la Tour du Curon, Jura 2016. Is this the Montrachet of the Jura? Well, if there's one Chardonnay wine from the Jura that quickly achieved mythical status, it's this rare le Clos de la Tour Curon.
Authentic, distinctive, rich, and very complex. Ripe, full-bodied, both round and taut, with delicate minerality and acidity, melon, hazelnut, chamomile, chalk, fine bitterness.
Two years of aging in 228l oak barrels (Burgundy barrels), one-third of which are new. Perfectly balanced. Truly exceptional. The very best restaurants are fighting over it! Unfortunately, Tissot only produces a few hundred bottles.

Clos de la Tour du Curon, a vineyard with mythical status
This white wine comes from a unique south-facing vineyard, planted by Stéphane Tissot himself in 2002. With a great genetic diversity of Chardonnay grapevines. The planting density is very high: 12,000 vines per hectare. This means not only that the grapevines have to fight for their lives, but also that everything is done by hand – there's no room for a tractor! Stéphane Tissot therefore works with a horse.
The vineyard is located directly next to a tower: la Tour du Curon, north of Arbois. Over the years, Stéphane Tissot has beautifully renovated the tower.
Characteristic are the old limestone soils from the Bajocian, from the middle of the Jurassic period (170 million years ago). Ideal for Chardonnay. There's a special atmosphere here. According to winemaker Stéphane Tissot, this vineyard is indeed comparable to the very best lieu-dits of Burgundy in terms of status and class.
