Grüner Veltliner, Herbert Zillinger

Exciting Grüner Veltliner by the sympathetic Herbert Zillinger. Dry white wine, biodynamic wine. Full-bodied and mineral. Also with notes of ripe apple and pear, stony notes, white pepper. Herbert and Carmen Zillinger live and work in Ebenthal, a village right on the Slovakian border in northeastern Austria. They make wines on 3 levels: Neuland as an entry-level line, Horizont as a mid-range and the top lines Radikal, Elementar and Profund. The latter applies to the Traminer, also known as Savagnin (Jura) and Heida (Switzerland).

Radikal and Elementar are the top lines for Grüner Veltliner. Elementar stands for purity and terroir expression, unaffected wine with a lot of power. But Radikal is his topper. Because here he completely exposes himself with his own vision: clean power with an exciting edge. In addition to Grüner Veltliner and Traminer, Zillinger also makes beautiful Sauvignon blanc.
