Jura
The Jura is one of the most interesting wine regions of France. The Jura wine region is located more or less opposite Burgundy, on the other side of the Saone valley. There are 4 sub-appellations: Côtes du Jura, Arbois, Château Chalon and l'Etoile.
The most famous winemakers are Ganevat, A&M Tissot and Labet. You can find Tissot and Labet at Lekker Sapje. Other good wineries from the Jura are Daniel Dugois, Lucien Aviet - we have both of them - and Berthet-Bondet.
The Jura has some typical grape varieties: for white it is Savagnin (Traminer). For red it is Trousseau and Poulsard or also called Plousard. Other grapes are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
