Espumante Bruto, Caves São João . A delicious sparkling wine—Espumante Bruto—made from Chardonnay, Bical, Maria Gomes, and Arinto grapes. Sparkling and fresh, slightly fruity, yet complex. A lovely blend of tropical and citrus fruits, with a creamy mouthfeel. Like Champagne, this wine is made using the traditional method, meaning a second fermentation in the bottle.

The Bairrada wine region lies north of Lisbon and south of Porto. Bairrada has been known for decades for its sparkling wine (Espumante in Portuguese).
