Tissot, Savagnin Amphore, Jura . This is a unique, complex orange wine made from the Savagnin grape (also known as Traminer). Candied oranges and the fine tannin structure make this a stunning wine. Nose of marmalade and orange zest, quince, apricot, hay, sweet spices like cinnamon, vadouvan, and nutty notes. Original, fine, and complex on the palate, with good length.

Vinification of Tissot, Savagnin Amphore orange wine.

Manual harvest and destemming. Then, in 420-liter amphorae without sulfur (SO2). The grapes are first soaked for four months (!) – this is called maceration . This is before fermentation. This allows the aromas and flavors to be drawn from the Savagnin grape skins and also releases some tannin. Only then does a gentle pressing take place. After fermentation, 3 months maturation in amphorae with topping up (ouillage). Bottled unfiltered with no added sulphur.

Vinification and aging at Tissot take place in the same baked clay amphorae. The color is almost orange due to the long contact with the air. This allows the aromas and flavors that develop in Developing over a few days, it's beautifully complex and long-lasting. So, here's a tip: monitor the wine for a few days after opening. Give this Jura wine some air ( decant it ) when drinking it young.
