Pinot Blanc Granite, Rieffel, Alsace . Soft Pinot Blanc with a touch of Auxerrois. Biodynamic white natural wine from Lucas Rieffel in Mittelbergheim, Alsace (Bas-Rhin). This wine smells and tastes of ripe yellow fruit, pear, and light citrus notes. There's also a hint of smoke and green herbs. A very fine, gastronomic wine.

Spontaneously fermented, aged for 15 months in large oak barrels (old Burgundy barrels). Unfiltered, no sulfites added.

Lucas Rieffel is the third generation of winemakers in the family and does everything by hand. He learned his trade at the renowned Ostertag winery, among other places. Rieffel also practices biodynamics. With respect for and in the service of nature and the terroir. Lucas Rieffel also works with low yields to achieve the highest possible quality.

For this white wine, the whole bunches of grapes were pressed slowly and long. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, with aging on lees (dead yeast cells) and batonnage for added thickness. His vineyards in Alsace total approximately 10 hectares.  

This Pinot Blanc Granite comes from the lieu-dit Gebreit , with granite soils, at an altitude of 300 meters, just behind and above the Kastelberg Grand Cru vineyard. The vines are between 40 and 60 years old.
