La Croix d'Aline Syrah, St. Chinian, Languedoc . Red full-bodied wine, French wine. St. Chinian is a small mountainous wine region in the Languedoc in southeastern France. This is where beautiful red wine comes from, mainly Syrah. This dry red French wine is from old vines, full and rich, blackberries and herbs with fine minerality through the slate soils. Drink it slightly chilled.

La Croix d'Aline Syrah, St. Chinian
French wine from the Languedoc. La Croix d'Aline is the showpiece of Domaine La Croix Sainte Eulalie in the AOC St. Chinian. A lot of holiness! This dry red wine is from Syrah and some Grenache that were first vinified separately on stainless steel.
Everything is done by hand, including the harvest. The soils in St. Chinian have a lot of slate. And that gives a nice minerality to the wine: freshness and clarity in many layers of flavor. Top French red wine for its money!
The wine regions of Languedoc and Rousillon to the south have many separate sub-appellations, including that of St. Chinian. The best known and largest are Corbières and Minervois.
