Wine from winery Pardevalles in the DO Tierra de Leon. Complex, special, round full taste of ripe red grapefruit, softness of pear and also some anise spices. Beautiful gourmet wine with a lot of class. And full of excitement, but at the same time very accessible. Unbelievable that this is possible for such a price!
Albarin is not Albarinho!
Don't confuse Albarin with the much more famous white grape Albarinho (also written as Alvarinho or Albarino) from Galicia (especially from Rias Baixas) and Vinho Verde (northern Portugal). Alba comes from 'white' in Latin and is therefore used in several names of white grape varieties. A word such as alabaster is also derived from it.
