Only two to three barrels of this wine are produced annually. These are not oak barrels, but barrels made of acacia wood, which give the wine a unique, mild structure.
Originally, this Bourgogne Blanc was intended only for friends and family. After some negotiation, Lekker Sapje managed to secure a limited allocation of just 90 bottles.
About winemaker Alexis Pollier
Born in Fuissé in 1995, Alexis is the fifth generation of winemakers in his family, with deep roots in the heart of Pouilly-Fuissé. In 2015, at the age of twenty, he began working his own vineyards and vinifying his own wines. His first vintage immediately caught the attention of Decanter. He is also highly regarded in the Guide Hachette.
His vineyards are spread across several appellations, including Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran, Mâcon Milly-Lamartine, Mâcon-Villages, Bourgogne, and Beaujolais. They are HVE-certified (High Environmental Value), which underscores Alexis' commitment to sustainable viticulture and the protection of biodiversity.
Alexis works biodynamically and crafts wines with a fresh, pure style. His wines are accessible and of high quality. In 2019, Alexis built a modern cellar with oak barrels and temperature-controlled vats.
This allows him to precisely tune the vinification and create wines that are both balanced and expressive. For this Bourgogne Blanc 'Acacia', he uses acacia wood barrels instead of oak, which gives the wine its mild structure.
