About Claudie Jobard

Claudie Jobard runs this small estate alongside her work as a winemaker at négociant Remoissenet and her nursery, where she cultivates and sells young vines. The wine estate was formed by bringing together the family vineyards from both her father's and mother's sides. As a result, she makes wines from the Côte Chalonnaise, including this beautiful white Rully, and from the Côte de Beaune.

Domaine Claudie Jobard builds on eight generations of winemakers. Claudie grew up with a mother who is an oenologist and a father who cultivates vines. That combination of knowledge about wine and the vineyard forms the basis of her approach: she carefully studies the terroirs and chooses vines that are well-suited to them.

In its own nursery, the estate cultivated Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines to ensure the quality of the plant material. Respect for nature and the soil is also central to the vineyard. The estate is certified organic (AB and Ecocert), works with attention to soil life, and uses no synthetic herbicides or pesticides.

Rully Blanc En Villerange: terroir and vinification

This full-bodied, balanced, and elegant Rully Blanc En Villerange is made from Chardonnay. The vineyard covers 2.2 hectares and is situated on a slope with a south- to southeast-facing exposure in the Côte Chalonnaise. The soil consists of clay and limestone. The average 70-year-old vines are planted with selected, low-yield Chardonnay clones. The vineyard is farmed organically.

After harvesting and pressing, the must is cold-settled for 24 hours. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels. The frequency of bâtonnage and the duration of barrel aging vary per vintage.
