Noble sweet dessert wine, what is that?

This Coteaux du Layon from the Les Deux Vallées winery is partially affected by noble rot, also known as pourriture noble , or botrytis . This causes the grapes to dry out, concentrating the sugars. Harvested by hand and fermented at a low temperature, this subtly sweet dessert wine can be easily aged for a long time. Also try the other wines from Les Deux Vallées, such as the beautiful Savennières and the Anjou blanc.

It's time for Loire wines, time for Chenin

Climate change is changing the wine world considerably. For example, regions that used to be cooler are now warmer. This is an advantage for the Loire Valley, as the grapes ripen more easily. This isn't just evident in Sancerre and Anjou. Muscadet is also becoming increasingly beautiful. And it's becoming easier to make dessert wine.

Taste
Chenin is the most exciting wine grape here! This sweet dessert wine offers much more than it costs: full, round, ripe apple, apricot and plum, almond, mineral tension, wax and honey and at the same time freshness.

Delicious with
Great with fruit desserts and dishes with liver and foie gras. Also nice as an aperitif and with cheeses, especially blue and red mold cheeses.
