A&M Tissot, Chardonnay Sursis, Château-Chalon, Jura . Sursis loosely translates to 'postponement', 'postponed'. An appropriate name for this stunningly beautiful Chardonnay from Château -Chalon, actually a Savagnin appellation in the Jura. Stéphane Tissot nevertheless found the terroir perfect for Chardonnay, and the result is this wild gem. Concentrated with creamy flavors but also fresh, with a stubborn salty undertone. This is a unique wine, wild and boisterous , with that classic Jura vibe .

Château -Chalon may not appear on the label...

The Chardonnay Sursis is one of the most interesting Chardonnay wines of Tissot . A Chardonnay, not from Arbois where Tissot has most of its vineyards but from the appellation Château-Chalon. But Château-Chalon actually only applies to wines from the grape variety Savagnin (aka Traminer).

Tissot found the terroir too interesting not to work with Chardonnay here. But Château-Chalon may not be on the label. In any case, this is an absolute gem of a wine from this beautiful Jura town.
It is a wine from old Chardonnay vines . With concentration and yet freshness, salty minerality, apple with cinnamon with licks of regional 'fino sherry heartiness'. The wine has great depth, lingers forever after each sip and feels serious and complex.
