Tissot, le Clos de la Tour du Curon, Jura 2019. Is this the Montrachet du Jura ? If there is one Jura Chardonnay wine that achieved mythical status in a short time, it is this rare le Clos de la Tour Curon .
Unfortunately this wine is currently sold out. There is still 2016.
Quirky, rich, very complex. Ripe, full, both round and tight, with delicate minerality and acids, fine bitters, floral, melon, hazelnut, camomile, chalky.
The wine matures for two years in 228l oak Burgundy barrels (called pièces), of which one third is new. It is perfectly balanced. Really special. The best star restaurants fight over it! Unfortunately, Tissot does not make many bottles of it.

Clos de la Tour du Curon, mythical vineyard
This dry white wine comes from a unique vineyard, located on the south. Planted by Stéphane Tissot himself in 2002. He chose a large genetic diversity of Chardonnay vines. The planting is also very dense with 12,000 vines per hectare.
This forces the vines to fight for water and food: the roots go deep. Furthermore, there is no room for a tractor, so everything has to be done by hand. This is also why Stéphane Tissot works with a horse .
The vineyard is located right next to an old tower: l a Tour du Curon , north of Arbois. Over the years , Stéphane Tissot has renovated this tower bit by bit.
Typical are the old limestone soils from the Bajocien , in the middle of the Jurassic period (170 million years ago). Ideal for Chardonnay. There is a special atmosphere here. Winemaker Stéphane Tissot finds this vineyard comparable to the very best of Burgundy in terms of status and class .
