A&M Tissot, Poulsard Amphore, Arbois, Jura . Is this the finest light-red natural wine ? This red wine from Stéphane Tissot certainly holds the title. It's incredibly refined. The grapes for this Poulsard Amphore come from vines planted between 1942 and 1972 on various old claystone deposits near Montigny and Arbois .
This remarkably light red wine is funky and the epitome of elegance . With delicate fruit and both earthy notes and floral aromas. An uplifting, medium-bodied wine with clean, fresh flavors and a long finish. Pure elegance and balance!

A&M Tissot, Poulsard Amphore
The grapes are destemmed by hand. Tissot gives this Poulsard (Ploussard is also acceptable) a three-month static maceration . After spontaneous fermentation, the wine is aged in earthenware amphorae (400 liters). These aerated amphorae stabilize the wine. Finally, the wine is bottled unfiltered, unfined, and sulfite-free . This amphorae-ageing method enhances the exceptionally delicate character of the fruit.
Poulsard, an outsider with enormous refinement
Poulsard or Ploussard is a typical grape variety for the Jura region. The skin is thin and releases little color or tannin during maceration. Therefore, the maceration process can be quite long to achieve perfect extraction of the delicate floral and red fruit aromas.
Due to its thin skin and early budding, the Poulsard grape is quite susceptible to disease and frost. This requires close monitoring by the winemaker.
