A&M Tissot, Savagnin non-ouillé, Arbois, Jura . This Savagnin is typical of the Jura with its fino sherry aromas, balanced by freshness and notes of pears, lemon, herbs, celery, almond and walnuts. Powerful, oxidative, intriguing , very long aftertaste.
This white wine is oxidatively matured (non-ouillé, also called Tradition) and can age wonderfully. Three years in open barrel, sous voile , under the membrane. Just like with sherry, a membrane of yeast cells forms on top of the wine. Unprecedented elegant and pure, precise and very drinkable. Oxidative style at its most natural and pure.

Savagnin is Traminer

Savagnin is the same as Traminer. As far as we know, the grape probably comes from the Jura and via Switzerland also ended up in Austria and Alto Adige. In Alto Adige the village of Tramin was an important trading place for this wine. In Switzerland it is also called Heida . In Austria you will mainly find the Gelber Traminer, next to the Roter Traminer (both give white wine). Roter Traminer is better known as Gewürztraminer.
