Ahrweiler Spätburgunder Bertram-Baltes, Ahr wine with great class.
German red wine from wine queen Julia Bertram and Her husband, Benedikt Baltes, is the winemaker. This wine is made from Spätburgunder (German Pinot Noir). Therefore, you'll taste red berries, strawberries, a forest after a rainstorm, and earthy notes. This wine also has lovely acidity and structure thanks to fine, ripe tannins. It also has an elegant balance with plenty of depth. It's spontaneously fermented, aged in large oak barrels, and unfiltered.
From vineyards around the village of Ahrweiler . It's fun to explore the terroir differences with their Dernauer Spätburgunder! The soil near Dernau is poorer (slate).
Former wine queen Julia Bertram works with her husband Benedikt Baltes. She tends the vineyards, he the cellar. They live and work in Dernau , overlooking the Hardtberg and Pfarrwingert vineyards. Since the 2020 harvest, Bertram-Baltes has been operating organically .
