Description

Anjou Chenin Blanc 'En Terrasse', Loire Valley. Dry white wine from Anjou , France. Made from Chenin Blanc , the most exciting white grape variety of the Loire Valley. This dry Anjou Blanc wine from the Domaine des Deux Vallées winery offers excellent value for money.

A beautiful, classic Chenin with plenty of ripe pear and almond, with lovely tension, minerality, and acidity. A touch of honey, roundness, and a long finish. It combines tension with pleasure! Simply excellent Chenin Blanc. A top-notch wine. Highly recommended!

Review from Perswijn magazine : Nose: white fruit, ripe apple, hay, flint, spicy, citrus. Palate: full-bodied, juicy, round, mild acidity, accessible.

The Chenin Blanc grapes for this wine were harvested and selected by hand. The wine is aged for nine months on lees in stainless steel tanks to ensure roundness.

Also try the other wines from Domaine des Deux Vallées, such as the beautiful Savennières, the Anjou Clos de la Cass , and the semi-sweet Côteaux du Layon . Winemakers Philippe and René Socheleau of Domaine des Deux Vallées are members of Terra Vitis. This French quality mark guarantees pesticide-free viticulture and sustainable wine production. It also guarantees good working conditions and respect for the environment.

It's time for Loire wines

Climate change is also changing the wine world considerably. Regions that were once cool are now truly warming up. This is an advantage for the Loire Valley, which is located quite far north. The grapes are ripening more easily. This isn't just evident in Sancerre and Anjou. Muscadet, for example, is also becoming increasingly beautiful. Another interesting fact: Chenin blanc is also called Droë Steen in South Africa.

Anjou Blanc, an interesting Loire wine region

Just south of Paris lies the Anjou wine region, in the beautiful Loire Valley. Anjou is divided into two sub-regions: Anjou Noir , with a nearly black soil of granite and iron. And Anjou Blanc , with a chalky soil of tuff. Chenin Blanc thrives here!

The Chenin Blanc from Deux Vallées comes from that "white" tuff soil, but with slate and schist. This gives it a tremendous minerality . Chenin Blanc has a fine acidity, meaning this white wine can be aged for a considerable length of time. But it's also excellent when young!
