Unique Portuguese wine

An exciting Arinto dos Açores wine with grapefruit, pear, and melon, minerally notes (nice acidity and bitterness, wet stone, and flint). Besides being crisply dry, it also has a roundness. This is due to the batonnage of the lees, i.e., the stirring of the dead yeast cells. A very interesting dry white wine from renowned winemaker António Maçanita from Portugal.

The Arinto dos Açores is a different grape than the Vinho Verde Arinto from mainland Portugal. This wine is produced by the Azores Wine Company in the DO Pico region. They rescue ancient, local varieties from extinction and create beautiful wines from them. Also try the Verdelho and Terrantez.

A unique and exceptionally rare white wine made from the Arinto grape, from 2014. The volcanic soil lends beautiful minerality and power. Elegant and exciting. Winemaker António Maçanita from Portugal is a major talent from the Douro region, a multi-award-winning winemaker. He also works in the Azores.
