Dark red with a distinguished bouquet: roses, sweet red fruit, and vanilla. It's also powerful, layered, and unfolds slowly, revealing notes of amarena cherries in juice, plum, vanilla, cedar, and cocoa. A lively freshness that lends length.

A complex and noble wine for ageing, made from 100% Barbera d'Alba. This red wine has been aged for 12 months in oak barrels. It's ready to drink, but will definitely improve with age, towards 10 years. A wonderful wine for classically trained wine lovers.

Attilio Ghisolfi 'La Lisi' Barbera d'Alba Superiore

The passion for wine has been alive in the Ghisolfi family in Piedmont for four generations. But until about 30 years ago, this small family business primarily grew fruit, as well as grapes for sale to local cooperatives.

Their son, Gianmarco Ghisolfi , saw the potential of their vineyards and decided in 1988 to make and bottle their own wine under the name Attilio Ghisolfi. The focus is on the Piedmontese grape varieties Nebbiolo and Barbera. Ghisolfi is known for their Barolo from the famous Bussia vineyard. But this Barbera d'Alba is also one of their gems.

The most famous appellations for Barbera are, of course, Barbera d'Asti DOCG and Barbera d'Alba DOC . Barbera from Alba is known for its dark color and strength. Barbera from Asti stands out for its finesse and length.

Maturation in small oak barrels (barriques) is preferred by many Piedmontese winemakers. This process softens the characteristic acidity of Barbera and develops a spicy, woody aroma.
