The Beaune Cuvée Jean Marie is full-bodied and robust with ripe red and black fruit, forest-like texture, and fleshy with medium tannins. This red wine certainly has finesse but is also truly full-bodied (in wine terms: full-bodied). This is therefore one of the richer wines from the Capuano-Ferreri estate.

Beaune is the 'capital' of the Côte de Beaune region. And of Burgundy as a whole.

The charming town of Beaune lies in the heart of Burgundy and is considered the capital of this wine region. This wine region begins much further north with Chablis , known for its oyster wine. This crisp and refreshing Chardonnay pairs beautifully with oysters and fish. Further south, near the village of Fixin, a long strip begins that forms the majority of Burgundy. This is called the Côté d'Or , the Gold Coast.

From Fixin to just above Beaune runs the Cô te de Nuits, named after the village of Nuits-St. Georges. The section around Beaune to Marsannay is called the Cô te de Beaune. Further south, you'll find the Cô te Chalonnaise and the Maconnais, bordered by the village of St. Vérand. Below that, the Beaujolais begins, which, incidentally, is also officially part of Burgundy.
