Bouard-Bonnefoy, Aligoté, Bourgogne . French white wine. Refined nose with ripe white fruit of apple, pear, peach and also slightly smoky oak. Wonderfully fresh, with juiciness, yellow fruit of apricot and melon, good balance. Long finish with toast and fine bitters of lemon zest. Sustainably made vegan wine , without pesticides or herbicides and virtually no sulphites.

What do Bouard-Bonnefoy and Colin Morey have in common?

Little secret: Bouard-Bonnefoy is a purveyor to Burgundy superstar Pierre-Yves Colin Morey. Bouard-Bonnefoy also makes a few affordable, very pure and precise white Burgundies under its own name. Like this magnificent Aligoté.
Aligoté does not have the reputation of the much more famous Chardonnay. But Aligoté is increasingly on the rise these days. Fabrice Bouard and his daughter Clara also brilliantly demonstrate that you can make stunningly beautiful white Burgundy from Aligoté. Chassagne-Montrachet is the specialty. But this wine family also makes other beautiful cuvées.

What is special about Bouard-Bonnefoy is their way of making wine: full of tradition and with respect for nature. So a truly classic method. For example, they still press the grapes in an old wooden vertical press. A technique that you actually only see in Champagne, but which for Bouard-Bonnefoy is characteristic of the pure character of their wines.
