Clos Galena was the dream of Miguel Perez (1959-2013), pharmacist, oenologist and professor. His dream: to make exceptional wines on 11 hectares of organic vineyard. Now widow Merche Delmau continues to work as a strong woman on Miguel's dream.

The estate is surrounded by forests and is located in the village of El Molar (Catalunya). It mainly grows Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carignan and Syrah. The production is low, only 0.5-1 kg of grapes per vine. Clos Galena works according to a traditional production system. With exclusive wines as a result.

The terroir is the most characteristic of Priorat. The nitrogen-poor slate with mica, locally called “ llicorella ”, gives the famous mineral touch to the Priorat wines. The vineyards are located between 50 and 500 m altitude, with narrow terraces on which two or three, or even just a single row of vines stand.
Priorat is, together with Rioja, the only Spanish wine region with DOQ status: Denominacion d'Origen Qualificada . Galena is the local name for a silvery mineral that was mined here.
