Dornfelder, a so-called Teinturier. Eh?

This wine is made from Dornfelder. A typical German grape that you don't see quickly in other countries. It is recognizable by a deep purple-red hue and lots of black fruit (blackberries). Dornfelder is a so-called Teinturier ; a grape with red juice (normally this is colorless and clear). This ensures that the wine remains purple-red for a very long time. Other red wines discolor over time from purple-red to roof-tile red. If they are very old, the color can almost have disappeared.
