Frei João Red Reserve , full red wine from Portugal from Caves São João in the DO Bairrada. Blend of local grapes Baga, Touriga Nacional and also some Petit Verdot . Red wine with bite but the wine is certainly not too heavy. Full aroma and taste of black fruit, olive, wood and spiciness. Elegant freshness. A real find!
Due to beautiful wood maturation (6 months) and then another 18 months on concrete, this red wine has a nice balance between fruit and riper tones. Reserva, so extra long matured on wood.

DOC Bairrada, Portugal's highest wine region qualification

Frei João Red Reserve, is a beautiful red wine from Portugal. This Reserva wine comes from the DOC Bairrada, south of Porto. Local blue grape of Bairrada is the Baga , which normally has a lot of tannins. With this wine that is very good. Also in the blend: Touriga Nacional and Petit Verdot. Reserva means that the wine is made from better grapes and has matured longer on wood.

Caves São João has a reputation to uphold with fine wines, including sparkling ones. Try them sometime!
