Description
Gaul's Eleven Scheurebe , dry white wine from Scheurebe and some Müller-Thurgau . Scheurebe is the German Sauvignon blanc, so to speak. Deliciously fresh and invigorating with tropical fruit: peach, pineapple, melon, citrus. And only 11.5% so that bottle is empty in no time! Winemaker is Matthias Gaul from the Pfalz. He wins one wine prize after another. Including at Perswijn. He also makes very nice Spätburgunders, we have those too.

Scheurebe, the Sauvignon blanc of Germany
Dry white wine from Germany, from the Pfalz. Scheurebe is a unique grape, a cross between Riesling and Silvaner, cultivated by Georg Scheu in 1916. This wine also contains a bit of Müller-Thurgau, which itself is a cross between Riesling and what was always thought to be Silvaner. Another name is Rivaner. But it was not Silvaner but Madeleine Royale, related to Chasselas. Just so you know ;-).
