Grauburgunder Reserve Kalk, Ecker, Wagram, Austria

Grauburgunder (Pinot gris) at Reserve level from Austria. Rich, round and full white wine from wine talent Bernhard Ecker . Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, maturation in large wooden barrels (foeders) of 500l. This dry wine has beautiful ripe white fruit, light exotic, nutty aroma, round and balanced with subtle roasted aromas.
Fantastic with white fish and shellfish, poultry, stewed veal, and also with lighter game and pasta dishes. Also goes well with spicy and spicy Asian cuisine. Modest alcohol content of 13%. Falstaff gives this wine 93 points (out of 100).

Grauburgunder Reserve of the Ried Schlossberg

The Schlossberg is historically also known as "Vogtei", "Winkelberg" or "Hausberg". This vineyard is located near the village of Mitterstockstall at 240m above sea level, in the middle of the Wagram DAC. This Ried (vineyard) has a slightly sloping south-west slope and a thick layer of fertile loess soil with lime. The local microclimate is warm to hot. In addition to this Grauburgunder Reserve, Ecker also grows Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Gelber Muskateller, Zweigelt and St. Laurent here.

In addition to the Grauburgunder Reserve, we have many more wines from Ecker: Roter and Grüner Veltliner, Gemischter Satz, Weissburgunder (Pinot blanc) and Riesling . Each of them is more than worth trying! It is not without reason that the well-known Falstaff wine guide gives Ecker 4 out of 5 stars. This makes this winery one of the top in Austria . "Leuchtendes helles Gelbgrün. Gelbe Tropenfrucht, zart nach Maracuja, etwas Ananas, a Hauch von Orangenschappen und Quitte [quince]. Saftig, extraktsüß, balanciert und engmaschig, white Steinobst, mineralischer Nachhall, good Speisenbegleiter, sicheres Reifepotenzial."
