Grandiose Grauburgunder (Pinot gris) from Winkler-Hermaden. Dry white wine from Austria. This is how it can be done (it costs a bit, but oh well). Rich, tension, vin naturel vibe, pear, melon, mineral, really special. Beautiful now but can effortlessly mature longer. Dry white wine, organic wine from Vulkanland-Steiermark. From the premier cru (1st STK is what it's called locally) vineyard Ried Schlosskogel . Great wine.

Grandiose Grauburgunder from Austria.
The Winkler-Hermaden winery is located on top of an old volcano near the village of Kapfenstein. The castle is also a hotel with a great restaurant. The view is phenomenal!
The volcanic soil provides a unique style with a lot of minerality in the wines. Winkler-Hermaden also has its own oak forests from which they make the wine barrels. The pores of the oak are so fine that their barrels are even better than the best French wine barrels!
