Macvin du Jura, Domaine Labet. Fantastic fortified dessert wine of Chardonnay. Warm with freshness, ripe apple and pear, quince, apricot, orange zest, caramel and that characteristic butter of Chardonnay. Macvin is officially not a wine - because it is not fermented - but a so-called mistella . Unfermented grape juice is mixed with Marc du Jura (distilled from grape skins). The result is slightly sweet, harmonious with approx. 17.5% alcohol.

The Chardonnay for this fortified dessert wine comes from 65 year old vines. This Labet Macvin also matured for 5 years in 300l oak casks. Another fun fact: wine from the Les Exaltés series.

Jura, a wine region rich in tradition

The Jura is a relatively small wine region: around 2000 ha. Yet it has a very old tradition of wine making. Even with a great variety of styles. Macvin is one of them. Another well-known example is Vin Jaune.

Labet, legendary winery

Domaine Labet from Rotalier , in the south of the Jura (Sud-Révermont) is one of the very best Jura wine producers . This small wine region, east of Burgundy, is relatively unknown. Now Jura wines, especially from the better winemakers, are very popular worldwide .

Close to nature

Domaine Labet used to make wines in the classic style. Nowadays more and more natural wine (actually that is even more classic of course). Labet works completely organically with a separate line biodynamic and vin nature . Julien learned at Domaine Ramonet in Chassagne-Montrachet and Hamilton Russell Winery in South Africa (both very good wineries).

Labet wines are world-renowned and sought-after, and are mainly sold on allocation.
