Maria Ganxa Samsó, Pascona, Montsant. Biodynamic dry red wine, Spanish wine. Red wine from Montsant, near Priorat and Barcelona. Particularly beautiful red wine from the Samsó grape (aka Carignan, or Cariñena in Spanish), and from old vines (60 years). Spontaneously fermented and unfiltered. Lovely aromas of herbs, spices and red berries, roses. This red wine can also be enjoyed chilled.

Maria Ganxa Samsó, Pascona, Montsant

Aromas of red fruit and roses, hints of herbs and spices, some wild yeast. Taste: fruity with violets and roses, fresh style. This red wine can also be enjoyed slightly chilled.

This dry red wine from Northeast Spain is biodynamic. The wine is made with short skin maceration of 3 days, spontaneous fermentation and then malolactic fermentation. This wine is bottled unfiltered. The wine comes from the DO Montsant, south of Barcelona.

The climate is continental-Mediterranean with cold winters and hot summers. Spanish red wine from quite old vines (60 years) Samsó or Carignan / Cariñena. Another name is Mazuelo.

"Rough indeed, and earthy, but all those scents of ancient land, of myths and legends, are packed in ripe fruit. Ripe fruit adorned with spices, sunny spicy scents as we also know from the better Southern French red wines. And all this interwoven with beautiful bright acidity. An exciting pleasure."

Winemaker Toni Ripoll cultivates 14 hectares of vineyards in Montsant with clay soils, which also contain llicorella (micaschist, known from the adjacent Priorat), limestone and granite. These provide depth, minerality and freshness.
