Petit Verdot, F. Schatz, Malaga, Spain, biodynamic
Description
Petit Verdot, F. Schatz, Malaga. Wow, what a wine! Petit Verdot from Serranias de Ronda near Malaga. That's already incredible. But the wine itself is too. This is a masterful red wine from the hand of Friedrich Schatz. Biodynamic wine from vineyards at 800 m altitude.
This wine is all elegance and finesse, just 12.5%. A great wine from only 3 ha of vineyards. Aged in French oak (Vosges) and on lees (12 months) with 6 months of bâtonnage. Tasted blind, you'd think of a very fine Bordeaux from the left bank. Red wine without sulfites. Only 2700 bottles made...

F. Schatz, Malaga
The Schatz family originally comes from South Tyrol (Trentino), the German-speaking part of northern Italy near the Dolomites. This region used to belong to the Austrian Empire. The family later settled in southern Germany, in Korb (Baden-Württemberg) and has been specialized in viticulture since 1641. And now in Malaga, Spain.
