Rare red wine of Pinot Noir, from a small vineyard with vines from 1985 and 1986. Facing east at an altitude of 260-280 meters. Here Julien Labet has planted 4 different Pinot Noir clones. With his brother and sister he shows to have great talent!

In the vinification about 80% whole bunches were used. Spontaneous fermentation. This red wine matured for 9 months in oak barrels of 228l. The soil is red clay and flint on limestone soil (Bajocien).

Labet also proves that it produces perhaps the best red wines of the Jura.

Julien Labet learned to make wine at Ramonet in Burgundy

Julien Labet learned how to make high-quality white wines at the world-famous Domaine Ramonet in Burgundy. Ramonet uses classic maturation in small barrels (pièces), on the lees (yeast cells). Together with phenomenal viticulture, this gives wines with enormous energy and complexity.

Julien went a step further, as he was one of the first in the Jura to ferment and bottle by parcel, rather than blending everything. This blending still occurs for some of his wines. But he found many of the old vineyard parcels so fascinating in their own right that they cried out for their own bottling. This series is called Les Parcelles Rares , the rare parcels.

The wines of Domaine Labet are both traditional and modern. Labet mainly makes white wines in barrels that are topped up - so non-oxidative - à la Bourgogne, in neutral barrels of 228L on the fine lees. But occasionally they also make the oxidative "vin de voile" style that is traditional for the Jura, matured in old foudres. Red wines are usually destemmed and matured in oak barrels or larger old foudres.
