Complex Riesling from Michael Malat from Kremstal.
Wine at Premier Cru level, that's what 1st ÖTW stands for. This Riesling comes from the Ried (vineyard) Steinbühel, which means stony hill. The vines are 30 years old.
The loess soil here is full of calcareous stones, which gives this Riesling a beautiful depth, with fine acidity and bitterness. This wine can be found on the menus of top restaurants worldwide. Malat has been making wine for over 10 generations and belongs to the 'wine nobility' of the beautiful wine country of Austria.
