Wine at Premier Cru level, that is what 1st ÖTW stands for. ÖTW is the abbreviation of Österreichische Traditions Weingüter, comparable to the VDP in Germany. This Riesling comes from the Ried (vineyard) Steinbühel which means stony hill. The vines are 30 years old.

The loess soil here is full of calcareous stones which gives this Riesling a beautiful depth, with fine acids and bitters. This wine can be found on the menu at top restaurants all over the world. Malat has been making wine for more than 10 generations and belongs to the 'wine nobility' of the beautiful wine country Austria.
