Roussette de Savoie, Cuvée Exceptionelle, Jean Masson & Fils, Aprémont, Savoie . This organic dry white wine from Masson is rare and comes from a small, 70-year-old vineyard (0.5 hectares). The old vines produce a low yield. This is one of the finest Roussette wines from Savoie. Rich and full-bodied, yet light, typical of mountain wines. Incredibly deep, complex, and long . A unique experience!
Review Perswijn 1 - 2018: Yellow plums, flowers, lush. Beautifully powerful and juicy, fine acidity, length, quince. 16 points. The renowned French wine magazine Revue des Vins de France (RVF) gives it a 92/100 .

Roussette? Altesse!
Although the name suggests something red, this is a white wine. Roussette isn't the name of the grape. The grape is the intriguing Altesse , literally "height," appropriate for this Alpine region. Altesse grapes produce full-bodied wines with lush tropical fruit. At the same time, the wine is minerally and refined. The appellation within the Savoie is Aprémont .
Incidentally, Jean-Claude Masson only makes white wine. Almost exclusively from the Jacquère grape, which produces a crisp, bone-dry wine. We have those too. Jean-Claude Masson is considered the best winemaker in Aprémont. His son Nicolas now also works with him.
